Hey, sup dude, I'm a ginger who goes on the internet a lot. Currently obsessed with rock bands and all that shit, and I wear my leather with punk pride. I used to be on an animating site called Hatena, where I posted Flipnote animations there. I've been on there for about 2 years. I came here shortly after I quit Hatena, and I'm currently waiting to rejoin when Flipnote 3d comes out for America. Well, if it ever comes out.
My inspiration for my art comes from a variety of artists, mostly my favorite bands and artist friends. Artwork I create consists of my own characters called Xenden Chao or other non-Chao characters. Animators play a big role, too. You'll see a lot of fan art on here!!
Fandoms that I'm in
- All Nintendo franchises
- Several other Retro games
- Gravity Falls
- OFF the game
- Neon Genesis Evangelion
- Kill La Kill
- Daft Punk
- Game Grumps
- Classic Rock
- Jojo's Bizarre Adventure
- Steven Universe
So, just as I stated before, I animate. I did it with Flipnote a lot, even though it's definitely not the best animating program out there, it's really frustrating to use it. But at least it's simple. I also tried out Inchworm, but I don't really like it. I eventually got Adobe Flash Professional CS6 for my desktop computer and laptop. I currently use that to animate, but I'm also waiting for the sequel to Flipnote, Flipnote 3D for the 3ds. I'll animate on there shortly after it comes out. The best Animation I've ever made is my Na Na Na AMV. I've worked on it for half a year, heres a link to the video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDw0J7…
Basically ever since I've been given a pencil and eraser, I've began my long and epic journey to become a pro artist. I mostly use crayons to draw my traditional art, because I got used to it real quick since I used them a lot as a youngling. Later on, when I got into using a computer, I would use MS paint to draw pixel art. But it was really boring, because paint sucks. Then I got a DSi so I started to use Flipnote for a lot of the art. And lastly, when I got a tablet (A huge Wacom tablet, it costed 800 dollars, dude.), things got real serious. At first I used Photoshop for drawing with it, but I rage quitted and switched over to Gimp because it was super laggy and dumb. I started to improve in drawing real fast, you could easily see for yourself. And then my friends and Tumblr got me into Paint Tool SAI, and things escalated from there. I still currently only use Paint Tool SAI for drawing. I sometimes use Photoshop for filters, though.
Oh my goodness. Video games have probably made the biggest impact on my life. I started out with them at a shockingly early age, around 2, with my brother's and I's Nintendo 64. Ever since, I've either had or knew the Nintendo games very well and I would play them non-stop. Later on, when I gained access to the internet, I ran into Sonic the hedgehog around the late years of elementary school. I got a Genesis and the Sonic Adventure games. I easily got hooked onto them. These days, I'm all about the 90s, 80, and early 2000's games, and some mainstream ones too. I just really like the nostalgia.
Currently, I'm working on coming up with some ideas for a couple of series I plan to create. The one I'm working on mostly is Nepventures, it's about all my Chao characters going on a huge adventure to protect the planet Xenden from harm. I'll also be working on side stories with other Chao, if people are interested. I'm also working on a Movie called Doomsday In Delphinae (DID for short), I'll I'll delve into that later. It's too early in production to give a real solid explanation.
As mentioned, my art is fueled by my inspirations and music. You'll see bits and pieces of my art that are inspired by my friends and other favorite artists. My favorite animators are Nerogeist, Egoraptor, Andrew Hussie, Rubber Ninja, and several other Flash users. Countless cartoons also add to the passion. Comic artists like Gerard Way and Andrew Hussie keep me interested in making comics of my own!!
And of course, music. It's what really lights my creativity on fire. From my favorite rock bands to electronic music producers, each and every artist takes a big toll on my work. Specifically, my favorite artists/bands are My Chemical Romance, Billy Talent, Anamanaguchi, The Offspring, Fall Out Boy, Blink 182, Green day, Daft Punk, Skrillex, Marina And The Diamonds, Muse, and Homestuck music!! Countless other Punk Rock bands aren't listed.
Are you self taught?
Yes I am self taught. I learn drawing art by using pictures and references. I learnt how to animate on my own too, except how to use the application itself, then I used Youtube for that.
can i shit on your dick
I am trying to do lineless art, could you give me a few tips?
There is an option in Paint Tool SAI called clipping group, it really helps because it removes all the outside shading away from the coloring. Also, remember to make several specific layers of shading. Learn how texture affects shading, which is really important.
Which operating system are you using?
I'm using Windows 7 Ultimate (because windows 8 sucks), 64 bit. My processor is Intel(R) Core(TM) i3 CPU, with 4 GBs of RAM.
Are your characters based off Sonic?
Yes, they are. They are based off the original Chao from the Adventure games, but I put my own evolutionary twist on them.
What do you want as future career?
My dream job is to start a band and animate the music videos. But I'll probably end up animating or drawing for some lame company. :\ I could always do commissions I guess...
Besides drawing, what do you do in your spare time?
In terms of the art of creation, I love to play guitar, sing, and write songs! I also enjoy more casual things like skateboarding, going for walks, hang out with friends, sleep, blog about bands, and play video games. I do a lot of things, heheh.
You play guitar??
Yes!! My band obsession has really gotten to the best of me, so I decided to try and give it a shot. I'm still pretty crappy, but I'm trying hard to get better. I have an acoustic guitar and an electric one !!
Can I make Xenden Chao fan characters, too?
Of course!!!! I love seeing fan characters, honestly, I think it's even better than just plain fan art! So I'm all for it. There is no limit to how many you make either, you can do whatever you please. Just make sure to credit the species idea to Sega and I.
How did you create your OC, Neptune?
I already had several OCs before Neptune, but I didn't exactly find them fitting. I decided to make a new OC actually based off the planet colors, so Neptune was created! Sparkle was actually "Neptune" at first, little known fact.
How did you learn to use the colors so well in your drawings?
I've been practicing color theory and color palettes for a while now, so maybe that's why? I just just a lot of practice with art in general helps, too. Very bright and flashy colors always have excited me and I love playing with them in my drawings.
Is Paint Tool Sai hard to learn?
Nope! Infact, I think it's one of the easiest art programs out there to learn! And the best.
How do you add audio onto Flipnotes that you upload?
I have the privilege of Adobe Flash for this kind of stuff. I import the gif file into the stage, resize it, and then import the audio too. However, the speed of the Flipnote will be off, so I recommend you mess around with the frame rate.
What FPS do you use in Flash?
I usually use 16 FPS in Flash, cause drawing a lot of frames isn't fun. "B)
